OPENING DAY: THIS WEDNESDAY - SEPTEMBER 2nd!!!

Yes, Mission: Comics & Art will be open this Wednesday, September 2nd! Doors open at 12pm, and stay open to 8pm. Hope YOU can swing by then, or sometime in the coming weeks.

I've been a little hesitant to commit to an opening date so far with still a few more ducks to get in a row. But this morning, at 5:30 AM, I received word that this is the week that the majority of my opening stock will be shipped, as well as my first shipment of weekly comics. So with with books coming to fill the shelves, I feel ready to start selling!

It's going to be a little rough around the edges for the first few weeks, so please be patient as the store and gallery grow and evolve. Really and truly, this just the beginning stages of what I hope to create, and I couldn't be doing it without all your support and input. Thank you everyone!!! It's been an amazing journey.

Thanks Martin! - business card v.2.0

Just had to to give a shout out to designer extraordinaire Martin Magee, for his awesome help in designing the Mission: Comics and Art logo and helping turn this little dream into a reality. Back in december when I was just getting going on the idea and starting on the business plan, marting was super enthusiastic and supportive about the idea. Then in February, I need a business card quick-style to bring to WonderCon and he came up with a great selection of concepts, but it wasn't hard to pick out the winner. We then refined that and I was able to have a "preview" card for the con. Everyone I gave out cards loved it, and were really digging the "eye". Another favorite aspect of the design was the red punctuation. Sweet stuff!

So now months later, now that I've got a the store/gallery location nailed down, it was time to revisit the card design and print up some with the address. And once again Martin was an amazing pleasure to work with and I couldn't be happier about the result. So if you've some designy work done, I can't recommend Martin enough!

Moving in

This week, I started the process of moving into the 3520 20th St. First step was setting up the fabulous shitty kitty "evolution" window display created by the much missed telephone & soup. It felt great get a few things moved in, but the real fun will start when I get shelving and racks built and installed. Hmm, sounds like a work party....
